Influenza is caused by a virus that affects the upper respiratory tract such as the nose, throat and bronchi. The infection lasts for about a week and is noted by the appearance of high fever, muscle aches, headache, cough and sore throat. In people with hart, kidney or lung problems, Influenza can cause pneumonia or death. RSV is a virus that causes bronchitis and pneumonia mainly in infants and children under 1 year of age. Symptoms of this disease are fever, cough, runny nose and sometimes wheezing.

Covid-19 is a virus which causes a pandemic in 2019. Vaccins have been developed so that the number of infections now seems to be decreasing. However, there are sub-variants of the Omicron that are said to be more contagious, these mutatants could cause another pandemic in the winter as this is the time when many people gather, schools start and social events move indoors.

This product diagnoses 5 pathogens from one sample in a run, diagnostics of SARS-COV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV A and B are performed. The product is a coloured chormatographic immunoassay for the simultaneous qualitative detection of the 5 pathogens mentioned.

The 5 pathogens have the same symptoms but different diagnosis. This product has an unique specifity for SARS-COV-2 which is an advantage, another advantage is the fact that additional pipetting reagents are not necessary.
