Influenza is caused by a virus that affects the upper respiratory tract such as the nose, throat and bronchi. The infection lasts for about a week and is noted by the appearance of high fever, muscle aches, headache, cough and sore throat. In people with hart, kidney or lung problems, Influenza can cause pneumonia or death. RSV is a virus that causes bronchitis and pneumonia mainly in infants and children under 1 year of age. Symptoms of this disease are fever, cough, runny nose and sometimes wheezing.
This product detects Influenza A, Influenza B and RSV in one run. Influenza A can be identified by the NP and M gene, both proteins, to which the PCR binds, resulting double detection of influenza A and B can occur. The RNP sequence as a template for replication and transcription. the NP sequence includes 2 nuclear localization signals responsible for active RNP import into the nucleus. Later during the infection, the export of RNP is mediated by viral proteins that interact with M1 that binds the proteins. This interaction allows for dual detection of Influenza A and Influenza B by the Flu multiplex PCR kit.
