FluCoSyn Multiplex RT-PCR kit


The FluCoSyn is a RT-PCR amplification test in a RNA nucleic acid extract designed for the qualitative determination of the presence or absence of the following viruses in one single run:

  • SARS-CoV-2
  • Influenza A virus and Influenza B virus
  • Respiratory Syncytial Virus A and B

All three viruses are RNA viruses, with human-to-human transmission that mainly infects the lungs and respiratory tract. These viruses are a major health problem worldwide. They are mainly there in Winter and Autumn. The flu is epidemic and has possible serious consequences especially for the elderly. RSV is the main cause of bronchiolitis in young children. And Sars-CoV-2 is a virus that led to a pandemic. The symptoms are variable, commonly covering an influenza-like illness.

The FluCoSyn test is based on a single Multiplex RT-PCR test that can detect all three viruses in one single well. The kit contains one oligomix to detect the three targets as well as an encapsidated control of the RNA extraction an RT-PCR inhibition. This control allows to check for variations that may occur during the RNA extraction step and real-time PCR amplification.

Influenza A and B are detected with FAM-labeled probes, RSV A and B with HEX labeled probes and SARS-CoV-2 with Texas Red labeled probes. CI-ARN is detected with a CY5 labeled probe.
