Legionella pneumophila PCR Kit

Detects and targets the 16S rRNA gene

Legionella pneumophiola is a bacterium that naturally ends up in the soil and in water, humans can become infected by inhaling the bacterium. Complaints arise for 2 to 10 days when people are completely infected, there are often few or no complaints. If symptoms do occur, this can vary from flu-like symptoms to serious pneumonia, called legionella pneumonia legionella pneumonia. This pneumonia can get so bad that people die from it.

Fluorescent energy transfer probes targeting the 16S-rRNA gene of legionella pneumophila were constructed for sensitive and specific PCR. This PCR ensures identification and differentiation of Legionella pneumophila from other Legionella spp. The 16S rRNA gene fragment A628C629 appears to be highly specific for Legionella pneumophila, the bacterium has a set of 203 and 97-bp amplicons specific only for Legionella pheumophila. This all makes the PCR test very specific to diagnoses only for legionella pneumophila.
