SARS-CoV-2 advanced PCR kit

The SARS-CoV-2 advanced PCR kit detects three targets (RdRp/E/N genes) in one reaction.

Since the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, there has been a lot of demand for SARS-CoV-2 tests, through optimization, the tests are always optimized so that the tests work more effectively. Geneproof has launched the SARS-CoV-2 Advanced PCR kit. This product is similar to the SARS-CoV-2 screening PCR kit from Geneproof. This product detects three target genes, RdRp, E and N, in one reaction. The presence of the SARS-CoV-2 sequence in the test material is determined by signals established in the channels of FAM (RdRp), Cy5 (E/N) and HEX/VIC (RNase P)

The difference between the advanced PCR kit and the screening PCR kit from geneproof is the fact that the advanced kit make use of RNase P beside the target gense RdRp, E and N. RNase P is a human gene for the control of the whole diagnostic process. Human RNase P has been shown to be required for the efficient transcription of various small unencoded RNAs. It has been shown that RNase P is not RNA but a protein. The presence of human RNA in the input material is determined by a signal incorporated into the Cy5 channel

One of the target genes that the SARS-CoV-2 Screening PCR kit detects is target gene E. This is the sequence for the envelope of the virus, it can form ion channels, also these proteins are necessary for the pathogenesis and infectivity. Another target gene is N, which is the sequence for nucleocapsid proteins. The nucleocapsid binds to the viral RNA genome and maintains the RNA in a beads-on-a-string conformation. RdRp is also one of the three target proteins that the SARS-CoV-2 Screening PCR kit detects, which stands for RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. This protein plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle, the protein is located in the most conserved and accessible region. Also, RdRp is used by SARS-CoV-2 to replicate and express the genome.
