iPLEX® HS Lung Panel

About iPLEX® HS Lung Panel

The iPLEX® HS Lung Panel is a practical tool for NSCLC (Non-small cell lung cancer) tumor profiling, capable of detecting 70 key mutations in genes like BRAF, EGFR, ERBB2, KRAS, and PIK3CA. Designed for efficiency, it requires minimal DNA, identifies low-frequency variants, and is compatible with various sample types, reducing sample rejection rates in labs.

iPLEX® HS Lung Panel: Simplifying NSCLC Tumor Profiling

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a significant health issue, requiring precise tumor profiling for effective treatment. Traditional NSCLC mutation profiling often struggles with limited or poor-quality samples, leading to high rates of sample rejection.

Key Features of the iPLEX® HS Lung Panel

The iPLEX® HS Lung Panel is designed to address these issues in NSCLC testing:

  1. Detects a Range of Mutations: It can identify 70 important mutations across critical genes, such as:
    • BRAF: Codons 469 (exon 11), 594, 600 (exon 15).
    • EGFR: Exon 19 indels, exon 20 insertions, substitutions in exons 18, 19, 20, and 21.
    • ERBB2: Exon 20 insertions.
    • KRAS: Codons 12, 13 (exon 2), and 61 (exon 3).
    • PIK3CA: Codons 542, 545 (exon 9), and 1047 (exon 20).
  2. Sensitive to Low Frequency Variants: It’s capable of identifying variants with as low as 1% variant allele frequency.
  3. Requires Minimal DNA: The panel works with just 10 ng of DNA, useful for samples where DNA is scarce.
  4. Quick and Efficient: It only takes 1 hour of hands-on time and a total of 8 hours from start to finish.
  5. Works with Various Sample Types: The panel is effective with challenging samples like FFPE tissue, needle biopsies, and pleural fluid.
  6. Lowers Sample Rejection: Its ability to handle lower quality samples and detect small DNA yields reduces the likelihood of rejecting samples.

Conclusion

The iPLEX® HS Lung Panel offers a practical solution for NSCLC genetic testing. It’s efficient, sensitive to low-frequency mutations, and works with a variety of sample types, making it a useful tool for labs looking to improve their NSCLC profiling accuracy. This panel helps ensure that more patients receive accurate diagnostics, crucial for effective treatment planning.
